The Jeffrey Isima Foundation (JIF) is a public philanthropy registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). With headquarters in Ugbokpo, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, and a Field Office in Obagaji in Agatu Local Government Area of the same State, the JIF was established to support inclusive development in Idoma land of Central Nigeria.

Established in 2023 by Dr. Jeffrey Onyejefu Isima (DJI) , son of a preacher, school teacher and grassroots politician, Mr. John Isima, the Jeff Isima Foundation focuses on improving the situation of health, education, human rights, emergencies preparedness, community resilience local governance, the environment, peace and security, and economic development in local communities across Dr. Jeff’sIdomahomeland of Benue.

Fully convinced that “all people, no matter their social status or locality, have the inherent capacity to effect positive change in their lives and in their communities,” the intellectual cum diplomat founded the philanthropy with its endowment coming from his personal savings. The Foundation works to build strategic partnerships, grow local capacities, connect people, mobilise resources and advocate policy changes to expand opportunities and strengthenresilience in the local communities against perennialsocial, economic, health and environmental challenges.

Although the Foundation was formally registered in late 2023, DJI had already started a philanthropic movement in early 2022, with the first projectson a medical outreach in late February 2022, several deep-water wells, and solar streets, all in several communities in Apa and AgatuLGAs as a pilot. The outcomes of those projects and the lessons learned therefrom provided the momentum for the establishment of the JIF andare also being used to design the expansion of interventions across the other programmeareas, as well as achievement of the vision of serving the much wider population of
